A pleasure trip ends in murder and Maria an innocent woman is accused of the crime and condemned to life in prison. Her husband Esteban, an important businessman, doubts her innocence, so upon his return to Mexico he divorces her bribes his friends to keep silent, and tells his children that their mother has died in an accident. Twenty years later, Maria is released from prison on good behavior, determined to uncover the real culprit and to confront Esteban, whom she now despises for having abandoned her. But her greatest desire is to reclaim her children who no longer remember her as their real mother. Upon her return, Maria summons everyone who went on that fateful trip. For people who are concerned about this telenovela being edited...yes it's true, but in a very very very good way! They have taken out all the filler scenes and kept only the real important points and guys, you have no idea how much better it is this way, especially if you have seen it on TV and you know how much the producers drag on story lines to make room for advertisements and more episodes.
